Summer is coming, and it is at the peak of tourism. The number one priority when traveling is safety. How to ensure safety in different types of tours? What should I do if I am in distress? Starting today, this edition will launch a series of reports on "Focus on Summer Tourism", introducing the overall situation of tourism safety and matters that need attention, and focusing on the three popular forms of tourism, namely scenic area tours, self-driving tours and overseas tours, discussing the current situation and talking about countermeasures.
In summer, the weather is changeable and tourism safety incidents occur from time to time, reminding tourists: travel, do the necessary safety precautions.
What should I prepare before I travel? What should I pay attention to when traveling in order to have a safe and enjoyable time?
Keep an eye out for aquatic projects
Avoid blind expeditions
Li Wei from Changsha, Hunan Province, took his children to Xiangxi for a tour. Instead of choosing a popular attraction, the family went to climb a mountain in a lesser-known place that had not undergone much commercial development.
Before departure, Lewich checked the local weather forecast and suggested moderate to heavy rain. He didn't pay too much attention to it, and thought of a place to adapt to it.

When Li Wei's family arrived at the bottom of the scenic mountain, light rain began to fall in the sky. On the side, many tourists chose to continue climbing the mountain, while Li Wei decided to leave the scenic area with his children and find a place to stay. "Fortunately, there was no fluke mentality at the time. The next day, I heard local residents say that the tourists who climbed the mountain yesterday were trapped on the mountainside for several hours and came down in the dark in the middle of the night, which was particularly dangerous. Li Wei said.
Zhan Dongmei, assistant researcher of China Tourism Research Institute, said that with the development of China's tourism market, the number of tourists continues to grow, and safety incidents in tourism are also showing an increasing trend. Tourism safety has gradually become the focus of increasing attention from all walks of life. Especially in the summer season, weather, special attractions and other reasons increase safety risks. Water play projects such as rafting, water parks, and island lake tours have become the hardest hit areas for safety accidents. Drowning and water traffic accidents are the main factors that cause death and injury to tourists.
Outdoor activities, such as hiking, hot air balloon sightseeing, paragliding, etc., also have varying degrees of safety risks. In addition, due to the differences in climate and geographical environment in various regions of China, the difference in the level of tourism infrastructure, sudden natural disasters and other factors, tourists also face risks in travel and accommodation.
